LZ Maryland Event
July 25, 2016
Last month, members of Operation: Tohidu staff member Mike Norgren joined Melwood’s External Affairs team, and Operation: Tohidu Alumni Chris Lopez, Shalon Santana and Jim Buckingham at Maryland Public Television’s (MPT) LZ Maryland event. LZ Maryland is held each year at the Maryland State Fair Grounds. This year MPT launched their MPT Salutes Vietnam Veteransinitiative, inviting local organizations that support veterans out to honor Maryland’s Vietnam-era Veterans and provide them with information on a diverse range of resources available in the. Maryland Governor Larry Hogan was on hand to greet thousands of Veterans at the opening ceremonies.
Later that day MPT held The Honor Ride, an 11-mile motorcycle ride honoring the 1,017 fallen or missing Vietnam Veterans from the state of Maryland. Hundreds of Veterans hopped on their motorcycles and joined many civilian motorcycle organizations and clubs for the tribute ride.
We were happy to provide our brave war heroes with details on Operation: Tohidu, and we look forward to continuing our efforts in support of our nation’s warfighters.
