MLK Day Holiday Closures
January 17, 2025
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. dreamt of a world where people are judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin or whether they have a disability. Through his work as a civil rights leader, Dr. King broke down barriers to create a more inclusive society.
A similar dream is what drives us, as an organization, to fulfil our vision of a world that fully includes people with disabilities. Whether we are contributing to legislation designed to eliminate the outdated and discriminatory subminimum wage practices for workers with disabilities; supporting community-based employment that offers people with disabilities the opportunity to learn new skills; or marshaling resources to create affordable, community-inclusive housing, we move forward with the strong conviction that our mission is possible.
In honor of Dr. King’s birthday, Melwood’s campuses in Prince George’s County, Charles County, and Arlington County will close at 3:00 PM on Friday, January 17th and will be closed on Monday, January 20th. Supervisors, please share this message with your teams.
Have a safe and healthy holiday!
Warmest regards,
Larysa Kautz
President & CEO
