September Employee of the Month

September Employee of the Month

October 31, 2016

Each month Melwood recognizes outstanding employees for their exemplary work and dedication to the organization. The following Melwood employees were selected as our September Employees of the Month:

Shared Service Employee: Michaela (Fralen) Watkins, External Affairs

I would like to nominate Michaela Watkins from the External Affairs division.  Over the last month plus, Michaela has had to take on multiple roles as there has been a lot of transition in the External Affairs department with two (2) major personnel leaving.  Michaela has risen to the challenge to flex with the added responsibilities and has kept an amazing attitude and positive outlook through it all.  She is a consummate professional!

Custodial Employee: Thomasine Jones, USSS

Thomasine is a hard worker and keeps the bathroom fully stocked and clean. She ensures that the toilet paper, paper towels and seat covers are always available in the bathroom.

Grounds Maintenance: Cesar Mena, JJ Rowley

Cesar is one of our tractor operator’s at JJ Rowley. Cesar is a team player who leads by example. Whether Cesar is working on a task with his team or by himself, he gets it done on time and with a great attitude giving 100 percent. Cesar is extremely dependable and is ready to work early everyday. Cesar also works on and maintains the equipment that keeps his team moving.

Other Facilities Management Operations: Cassandra Spriggs, Fort Meade

Cassandra has been working for Melwood for 4 years, in the Work Reception Center, as a Production Control Clerk.  Previously, she served honorably in the United States Army for 9 years.  Cassandra cares about her work and her actions consistently reflect her dedication to the mission and customers that we serve at Fort Meade.  She is a valued team member and always supports in any way she can.  Her willingness to train and help others on team has made herself and Melwood incredibly successful in their mission.  Cassandra deserves to be recognized for her high level of performance, loyalty to Melwood and One Team attitude!

Congratulations to all of our awardees!  We salute your efforts on behalf of Melwood!
