Fourth of July Closure
June 28, 2024
As we pause to celebrate the upcoming July 4 holiday, it’s also important to reflect on the meaning of independence—especially among those in our community. For so many with disabilities, independence means the ability to have autonomy over one’s life; to have access to gainful employment and meaningful jobs that utilize one’s strengths to the fullest extent possible; and to be involved in decisions that determine an individual’s future.
In honor of July 4th, Melwood’s campuses in Prince George’s County, Charles County, and Arlington County will close at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, July 3rd, remain closed on Thursday, July 4th and reopen on Friday, July 5th.
All Contract Employees and Day Program Staff should contact their site supervisors to verify departure times. We want to ensure that Melwood fulfills its obligations to the sites we support.
As I celebrate July 4th, I will also celebrate the work that you do daily. Thank you for continuously moving our mission forward! Have a safe and healthy holiday.
