Community members show support for disability inclusion, raise money for Melwood’s Camp Accomplish

Upper Marlboro, Md. – Melwood, a leading employer, advocate, and preferred provider for people with disabilities, hosted its third annual Melwood Champions Golf Tournament on Friday, October 7, 2022. 103 golfers participated and raised $108,953 to support Melwood’s Camp Accomplish, an inclusive day and overnight summer camp for kids with and without disabilities.

Camp Accomplish will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2023 and continues to serve families across the DMV region, providing an inclusive environment where kids can grow in new skills, appreciate nature, and learn from an early age how to interact with and embrace people who are different from them. Camp Accomplish includes a wide range of activities for kids with diverse interests, including culinary arts, equestrian programs, creative and performing arts, climbing wall and adventure activities, and more. The funds raised will provide 76 new scholarships for children from ages 5 to 18 to maintain the services and enhanced ratios needed to create a truly supportive, inclusive environment.
