CEO Message & Holiday Closure Information: Veterans’ Day, November 10, 2023

Dear Melwood Family,
Millions of Americans have served our country and, far too often, returned from duty with service-related injuries, some of which are visible, but many of which are not.
Securing meaningful employment under these conditions can be challenging.
Finding “peace with the past, through power in the present” is a guiding idea that inspires me and has been the foundational principle of how we work with veterans.
We help disabled veterans build a stable career and secure meaningful employment, either as a contract employee on one of the Federal contracts that Melwood
manages or with a position in the private sector. In addition, veterans receive workforce development training through our AbilIT and Building Paths program and,
upon completion, work in the IT/tech or skilled trades fields.
In honor of Veterans’ Day, the Prince George’s County, Charles County, and Arlington County campuses will be closed on Friday, November 10th; however, CSD programming on all campuses will remain open. Contract Employees should contact their site supervisors if there are questions regarding the closure.
We want to ensure that Melwood fulfills its obligations to the sites we support.
