Camp Accomplish Named a 2024 Washington Parent Picks Winner
October 1, 2024
Upper Marlboro, Md.—Melwood is thrilled to announce that Camp Accomplish has been named a winner in the 2024 Washington Parent Picks Awards, receiving recognition in the categories of “Day Camps – Maryland” and “Sleepaway Camps.” This prestigious honor celebrates Camp Accomplish as one of the best summer camps in the region, as voted by parents in the DMV area.
Camp Accomplish, which brings together children with and without disabilities and chronic health conditions, has been a place for campers to experience adventure, growth and inclusion. This summer, Melwood collaborated with Children’s National Hospital to create an unforgettable camp experience, providing comprehensive medical and social support alongside exceptional programming. This recognition is a testament to the dedication of our counselors, nurses, medical staff and the entire camp team.
“We are incredibly proud to receive this recognition from Washington Parent and our community,” said Larysa Kautz, President & CEO of Melwood. “Camp Accomplish is all about creating magical summer experiences that are inclusive and accessible to kids who otherwise may not get the opportunity to attend summer camp. This award reaffirms the hard work of our team and the unwavering support of the families who believe in our mission.”
Melwood extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone in our community who voted for Camp Accomplish in August. We look forward to creating even more magical memories next summer!
