Melwood recently released a new commercial that aired on March 6 and continues to air on NBC 4 during various programming, including prime time!
Have you seen it? It’s a spinoff of the highly effective, I’m Perfect commercial. The new commercial focuses on the life of wounded veteran, Maurice Woody.
After suffering a severe injury to his leg in 2016, Maurice was medically discharged from the military. With no place to go, he returned home under the care of his family. Instead of feeling sorry for himself, and allowing his injury to control him, Maurice sought new opportunities. He quickly found Melwood and all of the possibilities we provide. Today, Maurice is a Materials Handler at the Naval Air Station in Pax River. After a few short months on the job, Maurice was able to move out of his family’s home and live on his own. He does his own shopping, has a social life, and makes all of his medical appointments. Each day, Maurice arrives at Pax River with a smile on his face knowing that he is overcoming his differing ability and that it was Melwood that gave him that chance.
The External Affairs team recently collaborated with NBC 4 to produce three 15-second commercials highlighting our programs and services. There is more to come. Stay tuned!
