Dr. Tracy Freeman serves on Melwood’s Strategic Growth and Program Initiatives Committees.
Dr. Freeman is a primary care physician whose focus is achieving wellness through a combination of holistic and conventional medicine methodologies. Dr. Freeman, whose medical career spans nearly two decades, has progressively reoriented her practice to include natural treatments and a search for the root cause of disease.
As the daughter of a physician and an artist, she learned early on to value a patient’s overall well-being and not to ignore alternative paths to wellness, prevention, and healing. This philosophy was reinforced when her son was born with autism and Dr. Freeman helped him through via a holistic approach to his treatment.
Upon graduation from Howard University College of Medicine, she received a master’s degree in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at The University of Florida Shands Jacksonville Health Center.
