Disability-forward affordable living options
Most adults with disabilities—including those who have full-time employment—live with their families, often with aging parents. Meaningful alternatives that are both accessible and affordable remain extremely limited. This redevelopment project will create new living spaces in a highly desirable neighborhood accessible to Americans earning as little as 30% of the Area Median Income.
World-class, best-in-practice features
This project will adhere to The Kelsey Inclusive Design standards, the current gold-standard for disability-forward housing creation. When completed, this property will feature best-in-class accessibility features, smart home technology to aid independence, and amenities and services that facilitate community engagement.
Upgraded program and community space
The redevelopment project will be a new home for many of the programs and trainings offered by Melwood Community Services, allowing us to build deeper connections with and expand our impact in Arlington and beyond.
