Nanjemoy, Md. — Marking the return of Spring, Melwood will host its 4th Annual EGGstravaganza & Spring Festival on March 21, 2026, from 1 to 5 p.m. The event reimagines the classic egg hunt with large-scale excitement, inclusive activities, sensory-friendly experiences, and brand-new attractions so families from across the region can kick off the season together.

The beloved celebration is one of Maryland’s largest egg hunts and offers a fun, festive, and inclusive environment for children and families to enjoy the season. Guests can explore the bunny trail, hunt for eggs and prizes, enjoy games, crafts, interactive activities, build a bouquet, and enjoy food trucks and libations. The celebration is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

This year’s EGGstravaganza introduces exciting new features for families, including:

  • Vendor Market – Shop unique finds, vintage clothing, and handcrafted favorites from local artisans and makers, including those with disabilities.
  • Touch-a-Truck – Get up close with heavy machinery and other large vehicles and equipment.
  • Adventure sports – Try the newest addition to the Melwood Recreation Center -slingshots – or test your courage climbing a rock wall (closed-toed sneakers are needed).

The event welcomes children and families with and without disabilities to participate in the fun. An accessible and sensory-friendly egg hunt, inclusive activities, and attractions for guests of all ages and abilities will be available.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn more about and tour Camp Accomplish, a summer camp experience offered at the Melwood Recreation Center for campers with and without disabilities and chronic health conditions. In collaboration with Children’s National Hospital, Camp Accomplish provides a supportive and exciting environment where campers can explore, learn, and grow through outdoor adventure, social connection, and skill-building. Camp Accomplish welcomes campers ages 5 through adults, with specialty weeks designed for specific needs.

“Melwood has been part of the Charles County community for decades, and we’re proud to give back through events like EGGstravaganza,” said Larysa Kautz, President & CEO of Melwood. “Our mission is to help build a world where people with disabilities are fully included.
