Charlotte Wilson’s journey from Air Force officer to Program Director at Melwood Enterprises spans a decade of dedicated service and leadership. Starting as a site supervisor with Linden Resources, a disability services provider acquired by Melwood in 2017. She recently celebrated her 10-year anniversary leading teams that support critical government contracts.
“Anything I do, I try to do my best,” Charlotte explains. “I take it personal. I got a job, a mission, and I give it my all.”
That mission-driven approach was forged during her military career in Space Command, where she managed satellites, engineers, and large teams as an officer. When she joined Melwood Enterprises as a Site Supervisor overseeing the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) contract, Charlotte brought that same dedication. By 2018, she’d advanced to Project Manager, and today the BEP contract remains in her portfolio.
Now overseeing four Project Managers, Charlotte’s portfolio recently expanded to include custodial services, administrative sites, and Melwood Enterprises’ newest service offering: document scanning and management. Her leadership philosophy: take care of the whole person without micromanaging.
“I pride myself on being able to listen and hear what my employees need and allow them to do the work,” Charlotte explains. “I don’t need to be in the weeds. I allow them to do the work.”
This proven philosophy is echoed in feedback from customers. Among sites Charlotte oversees, Melwood’s teams have received significant praise for their exceptional attention to detail and quality of services provided.
One of Charlotte’s proudest moments came when she coached a hesitant Customer Service Representative with a disability into a promotion as Foreman and Inventory Manager. “Now she’s excelling, doing dynamite,” Charlotte says. “To me that is a huge success.”
For Charlotte, leadership is about empowering people to excel, one mission at a time.
