Melwood Enterprises Welcomes Shawn McKee as Senior Vice President of Total Facilities Management

March 17, 2026

Upper Marlboro, MD — Melwood Enterprises today announced the appointment of Shawn McKee as Senior Vice President, Total Facilities Management (TFM). He will ensure quality within Melwood Enterprises’ expanding TFM portfolio and advance a long-term, enterprise-wide facilities strategy.

In this role, McKee will lead Melwood Enterprises’ integrated TFM operations—overseeing contracts at Fort George G. Meade, the USDA George Washington Carver Center, the U.S. Secret Service, Melwood operated campuses, and more—while driving long-range facilities planning, operational excellence, and delivery of major capital projects, including Melwood’s Arlington campus redevelopment

Melwood Enterprises is a leader in TFM solutions, delivering high-quality, custom services by teams of qualified professionals who manage high-profile facilities that encompass 4.9 million square feet of indoor space and hundreds of acres of grounds. Melwood’s TFM programs span 25 years with building operations and maintenance, energy and water management, elevator systems, renovations and repairs, locksmith and lighting services, custodial and grounds, road and curb repair, material management, and shuttle operations—integrating diverse services under a single, accountable management structure. Melwood Enterprises’ highly trained and qualified teams provide round-the-clock support utilizing the specialized skillsets of licensed technicians, including plumbers, carpenters, electricians and HVAC experts. Melwood handles the majority of work orders in-house, saving customers time and money.

McKee brings more than two decades of senior leadership experience overseeing complex, mission-critical facilities, infrastructure systems, and capital projects across large portfolios. Most recently, he served as a Senior Executive at the U.S. Department of State, directing global facilities operations and construction programs across 270+ locations worldwide. His distinguished career also includes senior leadership roles with the U.S. Secret Service and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where he led large-scale facilities operations, capital delivery, and multidisciplinary teams in demanding, compliance-driven settings.

Shawn earned his Master of Science in Civil Engineering, with a concentration in structural engineering, and his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park. Shawn is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of Maryland.

“Shawn’s unparalleled expertise in government contracting, facilities management, and capital delivery will be instrumental as we continue to grow and strengthen our operations,” said Brice Alexander, Executive Director of Melwood Enterprises. “His reputation for elevating performance and leading teams through complex challenges makes him an exceptional addition to Melwood.”

McKee and his family have spent the past decade engaged with GiGi’s Playhouse in Annapolis, a nonprofit that provides support and programming for individuals and families with Down syndrome—a personal connection that aligns with Melwood Enterprises’ mission to expand meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

“I am eager to bring my passion for engineering, construction, and facility operations to Melwood Enterprises’ TFM business,” said McKee. “This is an exceptional team delivering for customers in high stakes environments, and I’m honored to help advance a mission that creates opportunity through work.”
