Romell Buchanan, Chief Financial Officer, brings over two decades of finance, accounting, operations, and audit compliance experience to his role at Melwood. He administers all accounting and financial functions, drives the execution of strategic and financial initiatives, ensures fiscal discipline, and leads financial planning, reporting, treasury, investor relations, and financial risk management.

As part of the Executive Leadership Team, Romell provides insight and guidance in the development and maintenance of a strong financial infrastructure that ensures sound financial management practices and supports the organization’s strategic goals. He oversees a team of finance professionals, champions organizational growth and innovation, and works collaboratively with fellow leadership to align financial results with company strategy and mission.

Before rejoining Melwood, Romell served as the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer at the Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless. Romell earned his Master of Accounting, with an emphasis in financial management, from Walden University, and his Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland, College Park. Romell is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
