Farhan Irshad

Farhan Irshad serves as Melwood’s Chief Financial and Administrative Officer oversees all finance, contracting, legal and risk management functions. Farhan has 20 years of global experience working in Asia, Middle East, Eurasia, Latin America, Africa and United States of America in Operational functions.

Farhan joins Melwood after nearly eight years at HIAS, where he provided executive-level leadership, oversight, direction and organization of internal operations and systems to cover administration, finance, human resources and information technology.

Previously, Farhan spent 14 years at Save the Children, where his most recent position was Director of Continuous Improvement and Finance Systems. In addition, Farhan served at Save the Children International, a $2.2 billion NGO, as Head of Finance for International Programs in London. Farhan worked in financial and operational management positions at Save the Children’s offices in Afghanistan, Haiti, Iraq, Tajikistan, Pakistan, and Indonesia.

Farhan was a first responder for the Indonesia Tsunami, Pakistan Earthquake, Darfur Crises and Haiti Earthquake. Farhan speaks six languages.

Farhan holds a Master of Business Administration with a specialization in Finance and Accounting. He also attended the Management Development Program at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.
