Melwood provide services for all designated spaces at the Center including, but not limited to, offices, laboratories, computer rooms, hallways and stairs, entrances, lobbies, restrooms, kitchenettes, loading docks, storage areas, elevators, exterior courtyards and exterior areas immediately adjacent to buildings. In total the custodial team is responsible for 3.7 million square feet of cleanable space.
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA’s) Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), Greenbelt Campus, is located approximately 15 miles northeast of Washington, D.C., in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Situated on nearly 1,300 acres, NASA’s GSFC provides wide-ranging science and engineering support to the Agency. The campus consists of 36 major facilities, and approximately 52 smaller buildings and structures housing approximately 8,600 on-site employees. Melwood provides supervision, personnel and labor, supplies and materials, tools, equipment, communication devices and transportation, as well as management strategies necessary to carry out effective and comprehensive custodial services.
