Operation Tohidu serves military sexual trauma survivors through a 7-week virtual and in-person program focusing on coping with that trauma. They are educated on their symptoms, introduced to different therapeutic modalities, and connected to mental health service providers in their area of concern. Survivors also have an opportunity to attend the Melwood Recreation Center to participate in a wide range of outdoor activities – including ropes courses, zip lines, equine therapy, tai chi/qui gong, and specialized group projects – to promote physical as well as mental healing. Melwood is seeking funding to expand this program to all victims of military sexual trauma.
